Flexible public holidays

As part of our commitment to being a caring, empathetic and inclusive employer Joyous offers employees the ability to transfer a public holiday to a date of more cultural or religious significance to them as outlined in this document.

What is this benefit and how does it support you?

Under holidays legislation, Joyous is required to recognise certain public holidays.  These holidays may or may not be important to you.

We recognise that some days may have greater cultural or religious significance to you, so we want to give everyone the opportunity to celebrate in their own meaningful way.

This benefit allows anyone at Joyous to transfer a public holiday to a date of more cultural or religious significance to them.

To use this benefit:

  • Please discuss your intentions with your people leader.
  • Update the Joyous leave calendar as normal when taking annual leave.
  • There is no need to request this leave through Xero/Gusto as the leave will simply replace a particular public holiday.
