Most people in Joyous are organized into semi-permanent groups called crews, who collectively share ownership of their space.
We also have full-stack roles across the business: in Engineering, Product, and Customer. People in these three roles combine many specialist roles and effectively make up 90% of the team.
We get rid of all the noise and make everything super efficient. This approach gives everyone autonomy to get work done as they can reach all parts of their area.
Everyone gets continuous mentoring and support. We are always learning, even those with a lot of experience already!

Every Friday we get together for lunch at Joyous. If we’re working from home, we can order lunch and join a social Zoom while we eat.
Almost everyone works in cross-functional crews (or supports crews!) We’re all about collaboration and shared learning both within and across crews.
The Donut Slack app connects team members for an informal chat. This is a great way to get to know everybody in the Joyous team.
Four times a year we pick a day and go road-tripping instead of working. We travel and play and eat, and just generally get to know each other better outside work.
Every Joyous team member chooses a custom animal avatar. You’ll see them pop up on our merch and in our marketing. Everyone is represented in our brand.
Every Wednesday we have Showcase, where anyone can share their WIP or achievements with the entire team.
